Slow cooker
A hearty slow cooker sausage supper finished with orzo, cannellini beans and sweet roasted peppers. The pasta cooks in the rich tomato sauce at the end, making this a satisfying one-pot family meal without needing a separate side dish.

Slow-cooker size: 3.5 litre
Freezer friendly: Not suitable for freezing
Suitable for batch cooking
Cool leftovers promptly and refrigerate them within two hours in a covered container. Keep for up to 3 days. The orzo will continue to absorb the sauce, so loosen it with a little water when reheating.
Reheat portions in a saucepan over a medium heat or in the microwave until piping hot throughout. Add a splash of water or stock and stir several times, as the orzo thickens during storage. Only reheat leftovers once.
Spoon leftovers into a baking dish, top with grated mature Cheddar and bake until bubbling and golden. Alternatively, loosen with stock and serve as a thick sausage and bean soup.
Sausages and stock may contain cereals, gluten, milk or sulphites; check the labels. Orzo is made from wheat and contains gluten. For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free sausages, stock and gluten-free pasta.
Always check ingredient packaging and labels if you or someone you are cooking for has an allergy.
